Effervescent

The main objective of this line was to find a sustainable approach to design without compromising a bold and unique look. The interchangeable and reversible construction allows for expanded color and styling options within a minimal number of pieces, supporting longevity and mindful consumption in line with slow fashion values.

Every piece in the line is fully reversible, with skirts that can be styled alone or paired with either compatible zippered top. The two main skirt pieces also feature detachable bottom panels, allowing the wearer to choose between a longer color-blocked look or a simple mini silhouette.

Design Process

When starting this project, I knew I wanted each garment to be reversible in order to offer multiple color variations within a single piece. However, I also wanted to push versatility further, beyond simple reversibility.

During my research, I found limited market examples of garments that combined versatility with a style-forward approach. However, one inspiration was a piece featured in the Goldstein Museum of Design’s 1980s exhibit. It incorporated a metal zipper running through the garment. Although the zipper in the original design was not fully functional, it inspired me to integrate zippers into my own designs — not merely as closures, but as connectors that allow pieces to be attached or detached, transforming the silhouette.
